The Corona mission arrived in the Langhe region in the Autumn of 1944 and things were difficult from the start. The mission had been sent to replace the previous liaison officer, who had died, and the agents arrived right in the middle of a large rastrellamento. They were immediately forced to flee and thus begun to wanter around in circles, unable to leave the operative zone but also constantly on the run from the enemy.
Only in January things started to look better for the Corona and the local partisans, as drops started to finally arrive.
