At the Bari airfield, soldiers are preparing the long ‘Type C’ canisters, desired to be airdropped to the partisans (these in particular were most likely destined to Yugoslavia). The canisters were tied to a parachute thanks to the holes visible on the back. These contained various supplies: weapons, ammunitions, explosive. But also shoes, clothes, medicines and even money. As the SOE’s officials sarcastically noted, it was always the canister with the money the one that ended up on top of the tallest trees or on the inaccessible side of a mountain.
